Biyang FZ10 Fuzz Star – No Fizz just kick ass Fuzz!

Now I think this is the fifth or sixth pedal I have reviewed from Biyang, and I must say that this is another great bargain priced pedal. Now I don’t wear rose-colored glasses where every product I review is fantastic and I only look at the benefits. But really, in summary (just in case you get bored and don’t read anymore!) this is like a Muff Fuzz in a pedal, but with a little more clarity, more compact and way more fun as it is way cheaper!

Lets have a listen to how she sounds in Darrens video demo below… The amp in the video is a Fender ’59 Bassman LTD (Lacquered Tweed) 4×10 Jensen 45W combo and the guitar he is using is Jeremy’s Aria Pro II Strikin Sounds ST54, before he started his relic project, which is fitted with Fender Custom Shop 56 NOS pickups.

Biyang RV-10 Tri Reverb – Another Home Run for Biyang

I love cheesy titles, so I thought I would put one up there! But in fairness to Biyang, who I imagine cop a fair bit of, “I am not buying Chinese rubbish“, this pedal is cool, does exactly what it says it will do, and is delivered to your door for under $100. So if you are wanting something to deepen or wetten your sound a bit, and if reverb is not your ‘main‘ affect then the Biyang RV-10 Tri Reverb Pedal will do the trick!

But before we get too excited lets listen to how she sounds. Here’s a video Dazza did demoing this pedal alongside the Biyang Max Distortion. The guitar he is using is his modified Fender MIJ Contemporary Strat and the amp is a Fender ’59 Bassman LTD (Lacquered Tweed 410 Jensen 45W combo)..

Biyang Baby Boom Phase Pro Effects Pedal

Okay, next four or so reviews are going to look at the Baby Boom range of pedals that are produced for Biyang.

Biyang I must admit have some cool stuff for those who are budget conscious (or should I say ‘smart’?!!). I have already reviewed the Biyang Max Distortion and Mad Driver OD-10 pedals, which I really liked.

Ok, so before I delve too deep into this review of the Biyang Baby Boom Phase Pro, lets see and hear how she sounds… Darren is playing his E Series Fender Contemporary Stratocaster fitted with a Seymour Duncan 59 Humbucker in the bridge and a Dimarzio Humbucker from hell in the neck. The amp is a Fender ’59 Bassman LTD (Lacquered Tweed 410 Jensen 45W combo). The video was recorded with an iPhone and the Fostex AR-4i Audio Interface for iPhone 4.

The New Chimp Head by Big White Monkey Amps

Big things are happening for the guys over at Big White Monkey Amps this year. As far as I know, they are bringing out a brand new range of Chimps, getting a new website sorted and looking to start some more new products that are currently being kept under wraps at this stage.

Last week we were lucky enough to get our hands on the brand new model Chimp head, which is the upgraded version of the older model Kong.

Before I go into specifics on the upgrades I have a couple of videos I would like to show you.

In this first video, Darren runs the amp through it’s paces using a Fernandes “The Revival” with Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups. The speaker box is a Fargen 1 x 12 with a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker.

In this next video we used a Fernandes “Super Grade” Gold Top Les Paul fitted with Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups. The Pedal used is a Biyang Baby Boom Mad Driver OD-10 Pedal. Continue reading
