Gibson’s Quick Connect Pickup Installation Guide – Video

Here’s a very cool video from Gibson demonstrating how easy it is to swap out your pups with the new Quick Connect Pickup system.

Even a total soldering neophyte like myself could confidently swap their pups. What a cool idea.

Not sure if the connection would affect the sound frequency in any way. I doubt it, but you never know? I suppose if there was a loss in the signal it would be so minimal you probably wouldn’t notice anyways.

Gibson Riff Building Session – YouTube

Are you looking to come up with that great Rock riff? Watch this master class from riffmeisters John Wheatcroft, Dave Marks & percussionist Darby Todd at Gibson’s London showroom.

This really is a good lesson on how to discover the secrets of using the minor pentatonic scale and how to use your rhythm section to create riffs that really rock.

It seems like pretty basic stuff through most of the video but stick with it, about the 8 min mark it gets really good where the boys jam out to the basic A, G and D chordal pattern, the results are very inspiring and well worth the watch.
